Q-Tip Says A Tribe Called Quest ‘Doesn’t Intend On Stopping’

Last month, A Tribe Called Quest released their sixth album We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service. Though deemed as their last effort following the death of Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor in March, Q-Tip appeared on BBC Radio 1′s Annie Mac Show on Monday night and told listeners, “Stay tuned for any other incarnation, ’cause we don’t intend on stopping.”

Tip also believed that Phife would have wanted the group to continue, saying, “That was Phife’s M.O. — ‘This time we gotta do it and keep going.’ And now he’s left us with the equation of how do we do it, but we’re going to need it, and we’re going to continue.”

While Q-Tip called the LP “closure,” he added, “I’m sure we would’ve liked to continue, but it’s just hard to imagine doing that without [Phife Dawg].”
