Phife Dawg’s Posthumous Album Title Revealed

After A Tribe Called Quest honored late member Malik “Phife Dawg” Taylor with a politically led performance at Sunday night’s Grammy Awards (Feb. 12), and an new material from the Five-Foot Assassin has surfaced, as well as the title for his upcoming posthumous album.

Premiering on Okayplayerthe LP’s smooth new single “Wanna Dance” features collaborators Dwele and Mike City.

The outlet also notes that versions of “Wanna Dance” — one includes Dwele as the lead artist — will appear on the singer’s Same Book…New Chapter and Phife Dawg’s upcoming full-length Forever. Dion “Rasta Root” Liverpool and Ronald “Ron E.” Estill will serve as executive producers for Forever, which is set for an early 2017 release, according to Phife Dawg’s wife, Deisha Taylor.

The Queens-bred rapper died in March of 2016 due to complications from diabetes.
